How it works
-
Fill out our Wedding Inquiry Form with details about your event. During peak wedding season May-October, the soonest you can expect a response is 72 hours after submitting an inquiry. Typical response time is 7-10 days.
The wedding inquiry response email will have more information about wedding cakes, along with links to book a cake tasting box pick up, and to schedule a consultation appointment.
Feel free to get in touch with us as soon as you're ready. Most couples start the process about 4-6 months in advance, but don't be shy even if you've procrastinated. -
Cake tasting boxes are available on appointed pre-scheduled dates. Each tasting includes your top 3 flavor options from our wedding cake menu. We know: it's hard to pick only 3!
Because cake tastings are only available for pre-scheduled pick up, if you're inquiring about a date that is less than 2 months away, having a cake tasting may not be an option. For out-of-town clients, off-date cake tastings may be accommodated based on availability. -
After your tasting, we'll send you a quote with all the details. Once you are ready to move forward we will send a deposit invoice and a contract to secure your date.
-
Pay your deposit invoice and sign your contract to secure your wedding date in our calendar. It's on!
-
About 4 weeks prior to your event, we'll solidify and confirm any outstanding details. This includes final guest count/servings, flavor selections and must-know venue logistics.
Your final payment is due 3 weeks before your event date.
-
On your wedding day, there's nothing for you to do except get married and eat some cake!
Everything will be ready to go for you and your guests—sweet as can be.

FAQs
-
For weddings, we have a $200 minimum for delivery and a $150 minimum for pickup orders.
During peak wedding season (May-October) our order minimums for non-cake desserts and wedding cupcakes is 4 dozen per item/per flavor. -
When you're ready to book your cake or desserts, we’ll send you a contract to sign and an invoice for a deposit to reserve your wedding date. Once we receive your deposit and signed contract, your date is officially booked!
For orders of a 1-tier or 2-tier cake, the deposit will be the full price of the order. For larger orders, the deposit is $100 and your full balance will be due 3 weeks ahead of your date.
-
We recommend starting the process about 4-6 months in advance, especially if your wedding date is May-October. For off-season dates (November-April), we recommend booking 2-4 months ahead.
Some dates may book up very quickly, so while we love to accommodate last minute clients with 1-2 months notice this is not always possible!
We do not book weddings beyond the current calendar year. Those inquiries will be added to an email list to be notified when books open in January. -

All items are 100% vegan, gluten-free and celiac-safe. Because of this, they are also dairy-free, egg-free and wheat-free.
Please let us know if you have a specific ingredient sensitivity or request. We can guide you toward our favorite soy-free, peanut-free, tree nut-free and coconut-free recipes.
At this time, we are not able to accommodate corn allergies. All of our cake recipes contain coconut.
As of August 2024, we produce in a commercial facility where common allergens are present. We take immense precautions to ensure everything is sanitized and safely handled to reduce risk of cross-contamination, but the risk is never zero. Items may contain the following allergens: coconut, soy, tree nuts (cashews, almonds, pecans, walnuts, hazelnuts) and oats.

We have more than 20 flavors to choose from, as well as frosting flavors and fillings to go along with them.
All our cakes and frostings are vegan and gluten-free, and we can also accommodate special requests if you have different food sensitivities or dietary restrictions.

We offer a wide range.
Other than cupcakes, our smallest wedding cake size is a 6-inch 3-layer cake and is very popular for smaller celebrations or to feature along with an assortment of mini desserts.
Our largest cakes are show-stopping multi-tiered wedding cakes!
-
We offer a few signature Hark decor treatments (like our edible pressed flowers and ribbon-piped frosting), so let us know if you see something you love from our portfolio.
Most of our wedding cake decor is customized specifically for each event. Lisa works closely with each client to create a design that will fit perfectly with the overall vision for your wedding and cake.Decorations can include edible and non-toxic fresh and dried flowers and greenery, glitter, and edible pearls, in addition to gorgeous piping, color, and texture. Frosting colors are made with non-synthetic food dyes.
We can work with your florist to decorate your cake with flowers and greenery at time of delivery on-site, which is a beautiful way to tie your cake into the overall event decor. We can also add client-sourced decorations provided in advance. -
After you fill out our wedding inquiry form, co-owner and pastry chef Lisa will be in touch to schedule a cake tasting and consultation.
You select three cake flavors and we'll prepare a tasting box for you to pick up and taste at home.
During your phone or video consultation, we’ll talk about your flavor preferences, design inspiration and any other vision you have for your wedding desserts. It’s very fun!
The $25 cost of your tasting will be applied as a deposit to your final invoice, for orders over $300.Because cake tastings are only available for pre-scheduled pick up, if you're inquiring about a date that is less than 2 months away, having a cake tasting may not be an option. For out-of-town clients, off-date cake tasting pick ups may be accommodated based on availability.

Note: We'll advise during your planning process, and pick up is almost always an option for wedding orders, but we do require delivery for 3+ tier cakes. -
We place a high value on the quality and flavor of our ingredients, which is why we never purchase produce out of season. Through local farmers and Co-op Partners Warehouse (CPW), we procure the best ingredients at the peak of their growing season to use fresh.
To limit our environmental impact, we order in large quantities once and then use these seasonal ingredients year-round by preserving them through freezing, dehydrating, making jams and jellies, and salt-curing.
Even with our signature pressed floral cake decor, we work with trusted local florists, shops and growers to source the most vibrant botanicals for our desserts. (We can also apply flowers and greenery provided by your wedding florist to your cake on-site.)

Sourcing locally: We have long-standing relationships with local farmers, from whom we source all of our apples, berries, stone fruits, melons, rhubarb, florals, herbs and squash. For other local items like maple syrup, as well as oils, nuts and dried fruit, we use Co-op Partners Warehouse (CPW) as our supplier. We buy our hazelnuts from a Midwest-based growers collective.

Fair Trade: All of our chocolate and coffee products are Fair Trade certified.
Organic ingredients: We use only organic sugar, coffee and chocolate. We recognize that the USDA-certified “organic” label is difficult to come by for many small farmers who use organic practices, so we prioritize buying local non-certified produce over imported organic alternatives.
Repurposed materials: We utilize reusable baking tools and materials, compostable materials where available and limit single-use plastics.
